Why I’m Starting Over
Building a life through hospitality, storytelling, and the pursuit of something meaningful.
# Why I’m Starting Over
For most of my adult life, kitchens have been my world.
They taught me discipline. Pressure. Leadership. Sacrifice. How to move with urgency while staying calm enough to think clearly. How to care deeply about details most people never notice.
They also taught me that service is about much more than food.
It’s about creating a feeling.
For years, I chased the traditional path. Long hours. Leadership roles. Openings. High standards. Constant motion. And while I’m grateful for every lesson that came from that world, somewhere along the way I realized I wanted to build something that felt more personal. More intentional. More meaningful.
Not just plates.
Experiences.
Stories.
Connection.
That realization is what led me here.
Recently, I stepped away from the traditional restaurant structure to begin building something of my own through hospitality, private dining, storytelling, and creativity. It’s exciting. It’s terrifying. And honestly, I don’t have every answer figured out yet.
But I know I want to build something real.
Something that makes people feel taken care of. Something that slows people down long enough to connect with each other again. Something that reminds people hospitality can still feel human.
This space is where I want to document that journey.
The wins.
The uncertainty.
The lessons.
The pressure.
The creativity.
The reality behind service and building something from scratch.
Some posts will be about kitchens and hospitality. Some will be about leadership and ambition. Some may just be thoughts gathered after long nights and quiet moments.
But above all, I want this to feel honest.
Not polished perfection.
Not curated noise.
Just the process of building something meaningful one step at a time.
If you’re here early, thank you. Truly.
I don’t fully know where this road leads yet.
But I think the best things usually begin that way...

Love reading pieces like this. Cheering you on through this journey! xx
Starting over is a new beginning. With new beginnings, there's incredible opportunity. But the thing is, even though you're starting over, you're starting over from here, a point with all your experience, all your successes, all your failures. So you're much further ahead than you really realize. And that's something I'm coming across as I'm going through this as well. I wish you the best and if any way I can be of help in the future, let me know. Thank you for sharing.
